Circle painting with corks!

My toddler (currently 20mo) is really getting into learning his colours and basic shapes. So I thought we could combine shapes and colours by doing a simple circle painting activity. I put six colours out and gave my toddler two corks, a circular bottle top and a loo roll. I then showed him how to dip the things into the paint and create circles. We named the colours we were using a said ‘circle’ every time we stamped the paper. He was getting pretty good at saying ‘blue circle’, ‘red circle’ etc. And we had other sound effects too ‘beep, beep beep’! Inevtiably, he ended up painting his hands too…but hey, that made it a good sensory activity as well!
