Bubble snakes!

My preschooler and I had so much fun making bubble snakes. We used an old squash bottle, a microfibre cloth, 2 rubber bands, a bowl and some washing up liquid. We cut off the bottom end of the bottle and then put the cloth over the end and fastened it in place with the rubber bands. We stuck some washing up liquid and a little water into the bowl. Then we dipped the end of the bottle that was covered in the cloth into the washing up liquid, and blew into the bottle through the top end. And wow….what a bubble snake we formed! My preschooler thought this was the coolest thing ever.

He got pretty good at blowing long bubble snakes, and happily played with this for a long while. He loved it when I did it so he could swat the snake too! I didn’t try it with my toddler as I was worried he might suck up a load of washing up liquid, but I reckon this activity spans the ages that aside. Good fun for a sunny day!
