Fun with blowing bubbles!

Sometimes the simplest of activities are the most successful! This was just a large box, some water, washing up liquid, some food colouring and two straws. You could easily do this without the food colouring, that was just for added interest. My preschooler soon showed my toddler how to blow bubbles through the straw (once my toddler had established that washing up liquid doesnt make the water taste too nice). We then experimented with blowing quickly and slowly, moving the straw around, trying to capture the bubbles, noticing what the wind did, and trying to pierce a bubble with the straw without popping it. My toddler had good fun with it. But my preschooler played with it for well over an hour, asking me to marvel at his amazingly huge bubbles. Brilliant!

We love our ‘really useful box’ – here is a link to it. Please note that this is an affiliate link, which means that if you purchase the box here I get a small commission at no cost to you.

Inquisitive

Hi! I’m Claire, stay-at-home-mum to two gorgeous boys and a lovely girl. My kids are energetic, spirited and full-of-life, and they certainly keep me on my toes. I love spending time with them and seeing them learn and experience new things – I hope that this blog will give you ideas to try out on the children in your life!
