Painting with cars, feet and hands!

Sometimes it’s good for the kids to just be given complete creative freedom. And with my kids (particularly my toddler), if that involves adult permission to make a complete mess, all the better! With the weather improving (although note he’s still wearing his trousers – bring on the warmer weather and less washing!!), we love to do messy play activities outside.

For this activity, I used a cardboard delivery box masking taped to an old sheet and stuck on the grass. I then got some plastic vehicles (that I knew would be washable!), and squirted lots of dollops of paint onto the cardboard. And then…let the fun commence! It was messy, but it was all outside and pretty easy to clear up as a result. And my toddler had an amazing time. He ended up all sorts of colours. But it’s so good for them to get their hands messy, and feel different textures, so I didn’t mind. And the smile on his face made it all worthwhile!

Hi! I’m Claire, stay-at-home-mum to two gorgeous boys and a lovely girl. My kids are energetic, spirited and full-of-life, and they certainly keep me on my toes. I love spending time with them and seeing them learn and experience new things – I hope that this blog will give you ideas to try out on the children in your life!
