Making a well

My kids love water play, and anything that involves transferring water from one container to another. After we made a pulley – see my post on making a pulley – we decided we would use it to make a well.

For this you will need –

  • One pulley – see making a pulley
  • Duplo
  • Tub of water
  • Playdough
  • Craft stick
  • Scissors
  • Glue

First, we built two towers (secured with a base) out of duplo – pretty high, to give our pulley a good chance to work. We then secured the pulley to the two towers using some playdough which we moulded onto the top of the bricks. Next, we cut a craft stick in half and glued it to one of the circles of the reel in the pulley. Then add the tub of water and, hey presto, you have a well (once the glue has dried)! My son loved it!

Inquisitive

Hi! I’m Claire, stay-at-home-mum to two gorgeous boys and a lovely girl. My kids are energetic, spirited and full-of-life, and they certainly keep me on my toes. I love spending time with them and seeing them learn and experience new things – I hope that this blog will give you ideas to try out on the children in your life!
