American landmarks

The boys love the freedom to just get creative. So this week, as part of our ‘America week’, I printed off some famous American landmarks – The Golden Gate Bridge, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, White House, Seattle Space Needle, Hollywood sign – and a map of America and hung them on some string across the room.

We talked about them (this involved a lot of references to the CBeebies show Go Jetters, which is a firm favourite of my boys!). I then put a big piece of poster paper on the floor, got out some colouring pens and let them loose drawing their interpretations of the landmarks.

Needless to say at their ages they weren’t instantly recognisable, but I could see their thought processes and they had a lot of fun doing it!

Inquisitive

Hi! I’m Claire, stay-at-home-mum to two gorgeous boys and a lovely girl. My kids are energetic, spirited and full-of-life, and they certainly keep me on my toes. I love spending time with them and seeing them learn and experience new things – I hope that this blog will give you ideas to try out on the children in your life!
