Great Wall of China garden challenge!

Hoorah for some sunny weather! Our activities tend to move outside as soon as the sun appears (and sometimes even when it doesn’t!). We were doing ‘China week’ when some sun arrived, so I set my preschooler a Great Wall of China challenge. I used some of the foam floor tiles and placed them in piles across the garden. I told my preschooler that he had to make it all the way across the lawn to the tile that had a sweet on it without his feet touching the grass. In the process he was to build Great Wall of China!

He pretty quickly worked out that he had to stand on a tile and then put the next one down before he could move on. It becamse trickier when he realised that a straight line wouldn’t work. But then, hey presto, he worked out how he could make it wiggle round the right way. I love seeing those light bulb moments!

A good thinking outside the box challenge!

Hi! I’m Claire, stay-at-home-mum to two gorgeous boys and a lovely girl. My kids are energetic, spirited and full-of-life, and they certainly keep me on my toes. I love spending time with them and seeing them learn and experience new things – I hope that this blog will give you ideas to try out on the children in your life!
