A glass piano!

As part of Germany week, I thought we would celebrate some fantastic German composers like Bach and Brahms and make our own glass piano.

This was so simple to do – we used five glasses, filled them with graded amounts of water (aiming for roughly the same increment between each glass), coloured them just for fun and then listened to the sound with a wooden beater.

Both my boys thought this was excellent. My preschooler made some pretty good tunes, and loved beating between two glasses very quickly. My toddler thought this was fantastic fun, and couldn’t believe he was being allowed to hit a glass filled with water with a stick!

Inquisitive

Hi! I’m Claire, stay-at-home-mum to two gorgeous boys and a lovely girl. My kids are energetic, spirited and full-of-life, and they certainly keep me on my toes. I love spending time with them and seeing them learn and experience new things – I hope that this blog will give you ideas to try out on the children in your life!
