Making a Menorah and learning about Hanukkah

The Jewish religion is such an integral part of history of Israel that I thought our ‘Israel week’ might be a good opportunity to explain what Hanukkah is and why Jewish people celebrate it. This BBC teach video is an excellent introduction, aimed more at primary school aged children but my preschooler enjoyed it nonetheless.

After we’d watched the video, we talked a bit about it and then decided to try and make a Menorah out of duplo. It is by no means perfect, but I thought not a bad attempt for a 4yo!
