Lady in a kimono craft stick activity

My preschooler really enjoyed reading the book ‘I live in Tokyo’ for ‘Japan week’ – see my post Book for Japan week. Towards the end, there is a section on what a kimono is and my son loved looking at the pretty lady in her kimono. So I decided we should recreate our own using craft sticks.

For this you will need – coloured card, felt pens, scissors, black paint, craft stick, glue. I made the kimono lady first, then drew out a design for my son to cut out and colour and helped him to make his own.

He was so pleased with the results!

Inquisitive

Hi! I’m Claire, stay-at-home-mum to two gorgeous boys and a lovely girl. My kids are energetic, spirited and full-of-life, and they certainly keep me on my toes. I love spending time with them and seeing them learn and experience new things – I hope that this blog will give you ideas to try out on the children in your life!
