Origami boat and experiment

We couldn’t ‘visit’ Japan without some origami! So I decided to make an origami boat, and teach my eldest how to do so too. We used this tutorial. The joy of these boats is that they actually float! So I put out a tub of water, made a few boats and let the boys play with them.

My preschooler decided he would do an experiment to test out exactly how ‘floaty’ these boats were. So he got some little people from amongst his toys and made them passengers. The boats were pretty robust. Although they didn’t withstand being gently pushed under water!

We love our ‘really useful box’ – here is a link to it. Please note that this is an affiliate link, which means that if you purchase the box here I get a small commission at no cost to you.

Inquisitive

Hi! I’m Claire, stay-at-home-mum to two gorgeous boys and a lovely girl. My kids are energetic, spirited and full-of-life, and they certainly keep me on my toes. I love spending time with them and seeing them learn and experience new things – I hope that this blog will give you ideas to try out on the children in your life!
