Fizzy ice!

Making things fizz happens a lot in our house because the boys love to see the reaction between bicarbonate of soda and vinegar – see my post on Bicarbonate of soda and vinegar: the science behind it. The boys also love to play with pipettes, coloured solutions and ice. Put it all together, and we get fizzy ice messy play!

For this, you will need – ice, vinegar, food colouring, bicarbonate of soda, pipettes and a tub. Put the ice into the tub and put some bicarbonate of soda on top. In little containers, mix vinegar with food colourig to make different coloured solutions. Then let the kids pipette the coloured vinegar onto the ice…and watch the fizz!

Inquisitive

Hi! I’m Claire, stay-at-home-mum to two gorgeous boys and a lovely girl. My kids are energetic, spirited and full-of-life, and they certainly keep me on my toes. I love spending time with them and seeing them learn and experience new things – I hope that this blog will give you ideas to try out on the children in your life!
