Dinosaur footprints with paint!

This craft combined dinosaurs, painting and messy play. My toddler loves painting, but rarely actually with the paintbrushes. He loves exploring different ways to apply paint to surfaces (not always desirable ones!). So I thought we would make some dinosaur footprints by using our plastic dinosaurs and sticking them in some paint…and then walking them across the page.

The dinosaurs had great fun walking in paint, eating it, banging each other and making a good old mess. My toddler had great fun orchestrating it all. And I really enjoyed it because we were outside in the sun and my toddler was having a great time! And the dinosaurs are plastic, so it really wasn’t too difficult to clean up afterwards. And we did some colour practice whilst we were at it. Win win!

Hi! I’m Claire, stay-at-home-mum to two gorgeous boys and a lovely girl. My kids are energetic, spirited and full-of-life, and they certainly keep me on my toes. I love spending time with them and seeing them learn and experience new things – I hope that this blog will give you ideas to try out on the children in your life!
